Italian Food With A Side Of Korean Revenge

oldboy.jpgObviously, you have other music related plans this evening. Obviously. But, if you're looking for a little pre-Movable Hype suggestion or find you're more of a Movie Person than a music one, we'd recommend taking in this year's Cannes Film Festival winner, Oldboy playing at the TriBeCa restaurant, Dekk.

Every Tuesday at 7:30 pm, the restaurant featuring Northern Italian cuisine screens a feature and a short film with no cover charge. So tonight you can have a side of Korean revenge fantasy with your veal saltimbocca or bow-tie pasta with smoked salmon and dill cream sauce. We've heard raves about this movie directed by Chan-Wook Park (Joint Security Area), but with a tentative limited February release slated, you may not be able to wait until then.

Dekk is located at 134 Reade Street, between Hudson and Greenwich. The short will be The Deer Hunter 2 (2004) by John Kraljevich.

This is a great idea - for a non Movable Hype night. But Oldboy is supposed to be really good, so if you do decide to go, we'll see you with our head to the floor at the Knit.

Oldboy is great - but it is definitely not the kind of film you should watch while eating gourmet food at a trendy tribeca restaurant; It features torture, sexual and orthodontic violence, and a memorably over fresh octopus. See it before eating.

great food flick all the way. the octopus scene makes me want some more fresh seafood every time! 4879 stars.
