Giants Look to Roll Over Bears

Jeremy Shockey and Tiki Barber celebrate a touchdown agaisnt Minnesota

The Giants simply must win this Sunday against the Bears. To call the Bears mediocre is an insult to C students and Ford Taurus drivers. They start the rookie Craig Krenzel out of Ohio State at quarterback and although they beat the 49ers last week, San Francisco may be the only team in the league worse than Chicago.

Hopefully the loss to Detroit two weeks ago woke this team up a little bit and the Giants will not look past the Bears or take anything for granted. Although its hard to figure what this Giants team will do week to week, we at Gothamist feel like the Giants will win this one going away and easily cover the nine point spread.

This season the Giants have enjoyed strong play from some unlikely sources. Saftety Gibril Wilson, a fifth round pick last year, garnered N.F.L. rookie of the month honors. Linebacker Nick Griesen has had to learn to play the weak side and has also done well. Mike Cloud has emerged as a short yardage option and center Shaun O'Hara, who has played well, is close to returning from an infection that left him hospitalized.
