There is about one month left in the college football's regular season and the match-ups are getting tough. With conference championships and bowl bids on the line, Gothamist is excited to catch the rest of the season. Can the undefeated teams remain undefeated, or will they fall out of the running and out of the favor of the voters? The coming month will tell.
If you're wondering where you might be able to watch these teams, check out Gothamist's list and don't forget last week's rankings.
1. Oklahoma – Next up, a rivalry game with Oklahoma St. The Cowboys have given the Sooners trouble in the past, but Ok.St’s one dimensional (running) offense will likely have a trouble scoring vs. the Sooners.
2. Auburn – Another easy win, this time vs. Kentucky. Can’t afford to overlook a road trip to Mississippi this week before the big game vs. Georgia.
3. Southern Cal – In the weak PAC-10, they will likely not be challenged again until their bowl game.
4. Miami – Gave up a lot of points to a weak NC State offense, but no worries we you score put 45 on the board yourself. Devin Hester is the best kick/punt returner in the nation.
5. Wisconsin – Not a very impressive win, but winning ugly sure beats losing. Looks a lot like the Ohio St. team of 2002.
6. Florida State – Noles roller coaster season continues. Followed up blowout of Virginia with a stinker vs. Wake Forest and only a 3 point win.
7. California – Interesting matchup this week with Arizona State: look for lots of points and a Cal win.
8. Texas – So much for having trouble with Texas Tech!
9. Tennessee – Ugly home win vs. undermanned Alabama squad. But teams with freshman QB’s will be inconsistent, and being 6-1 at this point is an accomplishment. A road trip to Columbia, S.C. could be trouble though.
10. Utah - Continue to win impressively, and blowout of Texas A&M looks even better now. Still would love to see how they would fair against weekly competition from SEC, ACC, or even Big 10 teams though.
11. Georgia – Same as every week: winning (usually) but not playing well. If they can’t beat Florida this year, they never will……….question is, will the Gators rally around Zook’s firing or collapse?
12. Michigan – Gothamist was surprised that they were able to get it done on the road vs. a solid Purdue squad. Much credit goes to the defense and to RB Mike Hart, who carried the offense (206 yards rushing) and has been the key to the Wolverines’ success this season.
13. Louisville – Nice bounce back win after disappointment vs. Miami.
14. Boise State – Solid win vs. quality Fresno St. squad to remain unbeaten.
15. Texas A&M – Make their first appearance in our top 15 this year with a solid turnaround (now 6-1) after opening loss to Utah. Improvements such as that are why Dennis Franchione makes the big bucks

Hey-
Came across your blog today. Great stuff. Though I'm not sure Oklahoma is worthy of a top ranking.
Noticed you were a college sports fan. Hoping you could add a Blogroll link to my "College Basketball Blog,"

Thanks for giving Wisconsin a little respect.
As a lifelong Syracuse University fan and a graduate student at the University at Buffalo, it is disconcerting to me that there are no northeatern colleges near the top of any polls. It appears that the Northeast (New York State in particular) does not have the high school football talent that it once had.
Wisconsin's win was impressive, considering:
a. we hadn't beaten Northwestern since 1999
b. we were up 24-0 on them by mid q3
c. 3 defensive starters were out
I'll take it.
