Up in the LIC

Because the outer boroughs always need more recognition, Gothamist just loves this LICNYC sign. From the looks of it, the sign can be spotted from the 7 train at Court Square and lets you know just where you are. With all the different areas in Queens, this is especially useful. Now, you can look up and know what to write on the envelope. Then again, if you're living there, you would probably know already. It can also serve as a nice reminder that you've slept past your stop in Manhattan. That and the fact that you're above ground.

Is this the opening salvo to proud New Yorkers heralding their neighborhoods? Will we see BoCoCa from the Smith and 9th Street stop? Will hipsters on the LES paint the subway tunnels? Oh the possibilities.

To give credit where it's due, www.licnyc.com as well as the LICNYC sign (a slight nod to Hollywood), is the brainchild of one Amol Sarva ( www.drownout.com).

Please, it's not BoCoCa. It's TriFlAntic: the Triangle Between Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues. Get it right, people.
