Gothamist passed this truck on 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues on our way home from work yesterday (right across from the new Pongsri Thai that's under construction) and, given our love for street food, were intrigued. Unfortunately they were shut down for the day so we didn't have a chance to check out the panini they were peddling, but we figure that any truck selling kobe beef hot dogs can't be too bad. If anyone has visited this truck, let us know how it is!

i've seen this truck once in front of virgin in union sq. i too was intrigued by the kobe beef hot dog but was not man enough to sample the fare.
maybe next time.
I believe it's Butter (the restaurant's) food truck/van...it was stationed outside when I went during Restaurant week...unfortunately, I have no clue if it's good!
This truck is affiliated with Butter restaurant and operates solely to feed late night party people. It is commonly placed outside Marquee. However, recently it has been spotted outside the new bar of Butter's owners Duke & Dutches on 4th Ave. The food is good.
Thanks! Perhaps I'll track it down next time I'm out partying late night. . .
i've seen this truck once in soho, over 2 months ago, and have been wishing for it to come back ever since. it was on prince st right past mercer, we got freshly made sweet potato fries in a lovely paper cone, and they were earth shattering. butter on a roll: come back to us!
I got lunch from this truck on Monday and struck up a conversation with the woman running it while my panini was heating (delicious chicken-arugula panini, btw). She's only been on the job for a few weeks now - though the truck has been around longer - and normally parks in front of Stern at NYU on West 4th. For some reason or another, she was on 57th between 5th and 6th Monday, but it was slower than at NYU. For $6, though, I got the chicken-arugula panini, a diet coke and an oatmeal cookie. Definite bargain, and really tasty!
