Look I feel for this guy , The bottom line is you have to be fit enough to do the job ! What this guy has is a severe handicap that could play a role in an accident . I don't care if he just opens and closes the doors ! You need to be alert at all times . What if something happens on the train outside of a staion and this guy is asleep? I don't even want to think about that ! He shouldn't have been given the job in the first place . This is not me hating on a guy that got a good job with benefits , It's all about the safety issue .

If he's a conductor, then that's fine. If he's an operator, then no- even if he is taking his medication. No one can be certain that he'll forget to take them one day or something. Too many people's lives are at stake.
