Mayor Bloomberg: A Little Bit Country

2004_10_mayorb.jpg

The Country Music Awards are coming to New York City and Madison Square Garden in November 2005. During the press conference, Mayor Bloomberg said he would write a song called, "Mama Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Mayors." Yeah - just let them grow up to be billionaires. Anyway, Gothamist just wants to say we'll definitely take this picture of Mayor Bloomberg, in cowboy hat and armed with a guitar, as a better-late-than-never birthday gift. We think he's getting ready for Halloween!

The Press release notes that this is the first time the CMA's have been held outside of Nashville; there will be a gala leading up to the awards - "Country Takes New York City."

If New York stole the Adult Entertainment Expo away from Vegas, would Bloomberg announce it wearing a "gimp" mask?

i feel like this is the best bloomberg picture ever.

I know! And Sterling, re: AE Expo, I think the city knows not to do some things to the voting public, so I think they are staying away from instances when Bloomberg has to wear S&M gear.

That's Trace Adkins standing behind him in the photo, which is in itself funny. Adkins' videos ooze with the contempt he has for city fellers. He inevitably steals their women and then castigates them for not knowing anything about guns, dogs and pickup trucks.

Yeah, don't country singers hate us city folk? Man, the Repubican convention WON'T LEAVE!
