New York Film Festival Opens

Fall is truly the best season of the year, because that's when the New York Film Festival begins. The NY Times has a special section dedicated to the NYFF (tips on how to score tickets to the films - most of which are sold out) . A.O. Scott
reviews Agnes Jaoui's Look At Me and the NY Times is also asking readers for questions for Jaoui, Pedro Almodovar, and Mike Leigh this week. Jen- PLEASE go see Rois et reine (Kings and Queen). It is the sleeper film of the festival and one of the best you are likely to see this year.

While I was definitely interested in seeing "Look at Me" and "Notre Musique", neither of which I could get tickets to, I might try to get tickets to "The Empress Dowager" and the old Shaw kung fu movies. Memories....
