Yom Kippur and Your Car

Is alternate side parking suspended anytime this week? I know the Jewish holidays are still going on and, even though I'm not Jewish, I'd rather not move my car before I go to work.

Unless you work on a Saturday you'll be moving your car every workday this week. Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of attonement, officially starts at sundown on Friday, but as you well know, most cars are moved in the morning or early afternoon. Alternate side parking rules are suspended on Saturday, September 25th, so sleep in if you can.

There are still plenty of other Jewish holidays left for you to observe by leaving your car in its place. The City has an online calendar of alternate side parking suspensions. Simchas Torah, lucky you, is on a Friday this year.
