Happy Fall!

2004_09_autumn.jpg

It's our favorite time of the year, when thoughts turn to trick-or-treating, daylight savings time (okay, not the shorter days, but the extra hour of sleep is nice), huge Thanksgiving dinners, fall movies, and leaves changing color. Daylight savings time for us is on October 31, How Stuff Works explains why seasons change, here's a NASA page about stargazing during the seasons and this is why leaves change color. And another kind of season(s): The Four Seasons restaurant, NYC's power dining spot.

Another thing we all to look forward to this fall: The Presidential election. We hope you're voting, and if you can, why not think about being a swing state volunteer? Two swing state resources: The Swing State Project blog and a swing State Project volunteer site.

And what's your favorite season?

    Daylight Savings Time sucks.

    I hate winter.

Words might be left out of sentences because that's the way the writer of the comment sent it in because sometimes you try to cancel your comment due to some disfiguring grammatical error but IT STILL POSTS IT ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't your copy get proofed before it's posted? Why are so many words left out of sentences on this site? It's really annoying.

Yay, I'm glad I'm not alone in rejoicing the arrival of autumn. I hate hot weather (admittedly we got off easy this summer) and can't understand people who *love* 90+ degree weather (with humidity!). Not to mention seeing and smelling more of everyone.

I love the crispness, the cider, the colors, the clothes (fall is really the preppiest of seasons). Bring it.

  • erm... daylight savings time is going on right now. October 31st marks the return to standard time.

Three cheers for fellow folks celebrating the coming of fall! I'm sick of hearing about how wonderful the summer is -- daily exposure to sweaty, malodorous flesh in August, especially on the subway, is not for me.
