Radiation Scare in Midtown

A radiography camera used by some construction workers in Midtown malfunctioned yesterday, causing a few blocks to close down at Second and Third Avenues in the 50s. Now, health officials say the levels were low and pose no significant health risk to passerbys; one comparison was that the radiation emitted is about as much as a mammograph emits. This was also probably very worrisome because the U.N. is just to the south, and many delegates are staying at the Waldorf to the east - not to mention the poor CitiCorp building on Lexington. Speaking of the Waldorf, Colgate has offices across the street on Park Avenue and their employees aren't at work this week, because snipers are stationed there! Anyway, the cellphones and WiFi and TV and everything else good in this world will probably kill us faster than this incident.

Geez! That must added Grey hairs to many in Law Enforcement!!

That should be "passersby."

I'm going to Burger King to order two Whoppers Junior!

Without reading the article, are there frequent spikes in radiation levels in midtown?

Then again, if you believe that magnets have healing power, New Yorkers are the safest people this side of Tokyo...

Are these the same "health officials" who told us there was nothing in the WTC air that would make us sick? I'm just asking.

Since this page hasn't been updated for over 12 hours I'm going to assume Chung is in the clink.

Heh, actually something more scary is happening: My parents are coming to visit! Worrying about the Republicans OR radiation ain't nothing compared to the Chungs.
