I walked past the filming on 4th while on a work errand, but was on the wrong side of the block to really see anything. Thanks for the info.

Dirk -- strangely, that "gay city councilor gets outed" episode sort of happened way back in season 2. It was called Silence. It was actually the gay politician who was killed, but -- listen to this -- he was blackmailed/extorted by an unsavory ex-lover first, just like McG is claiming now. But, just because they did an episode like that once, I guess it doesn't mean they won't do it again. In fact, they already did do it again. The episode Pride, which was Chris Noth's last episode, also deals with a murdered gay city councilor. This time he is killed because another councilor is upset about -- of all things -- redistricting.

Yeah, see seemed pretty cool. I snapped about 15 of her sitting in the make up chair and she was really nice -- smiling, lauging and seemed to be getting on quite well with the PA's. Speaking of PA's. Do I have to listen to them when the say "you can't stand there" when I am in public space just watching the shooting?

they filmed on orchard street when i used to live there. i think it was a scene where they were interrogating a prostitute for information with the kitchen of congee village open in the background for that authentic new york feel. i yelled outta my window at jesse in between takes and he actually looked up and smiled. i haven't been that happy since... it's been a long 4 years.

Drew - Just an assumption, of course. They very rarely shoot in the NYU neighborhood though, and then they shot there 3 times in one day. I think it's harsh to say they're dramatizing tragedy for profit. Basically, it is true, but as it's a show about NYC, they couldn't NOT have an episode about it. It was kind of a big deal at the time (and even now). tien - if you want more rohm, I can shoot you a million more (Many unfortunately of the back of her head). I've got more pictures, if you guys are interested - should I post them somewhere?

I can't believe that I worked in 380 Lafayette for EIGHT YEARS and Law & Order FINALLY filmed there THREE WEEKS after I moved to New frickin' Hampshire. I am quite literally dying in my chair.

Does L&O frequently shoot on the Minettas (street and lane)? A pretty big crew was set up there yesterday, and those two tiny streets are shut off about once every two weeks or so for filming of some sort, it seems like. And I think assuming that the filming was about the NYU suicides is a little premature, isn't it? Nicola's email just seemed to be a guess. But I wouldn't put it past any show to dramatize recent tragedy for profit. Drew

that show is sooo played out its depressing. i kinda feel like i'm going to a nursing home watching that show...i have seen them filming alot of that dennis leary show around my hood in harlem though...

I saw them filming, too. The dead guy on the jaguar looked pretty realistic. The "ripped from the headlines" story that I'm waiting for is about a NYC politician who comes out of the closet, resigns and murders his young lover/aide.

L&O filmed an episode in my friend's apartment. They rented it for 2 days, completely set it up from scratch, filmed, and cleaned out. Was on the air about 2 months later if I remember right. very interesting to see Peter

i don't know, i think it's a little too soon after this year's suicides at NYU for L&O to be using these kids' deaths to entertain people and make money off of.

some of us at gothamist feel that image of rohm could have been cropped a lot tighter.
