Not Without My Meatloaf: The Mike Wallace Arrest Story

2004_08_meatloaf.jpg

The Taxi & Limousine Commission is getting the once over from the press after people realized it's not everyday the 86 year-old cornerstone of 60 Minutes gets arrested. Mike Wallace spoke to Don Imus yesterday morning and explained what happened:
I ordered a car service to pick me up to take me over to a restaurant where I was going to get some meatloaf and then go home. All of a sudden some traffic and limousine cops intervened. So all I was trying to do was protect my meatloaf.
Yes, meatloaf IS worth getting arrested for...cold meatloaf sandwiches are the best. Mayor Bloomberg is also sticking up for Wallace, saying that he wants the incident investigated - "I'd want to find out more why a man in his 80s was so threatening that they had to arrest him when they normally don't arrest anybody." Snap! In the meantime, many witnesses are telling Wallace they will support him in court on October 7; vendors at the downtown courts rejoice. Oh, and when Wallace got home, he put the meatloaf in the microwave - we know you were wondering.

This photo from a Naomi Judd recipe for meatloaf. And another kind of meatloaf entirely.

holy crap that meatloaf looks good.

aww, why don't you just let the man have his mashed potatoes and meatloaf while it's still hot.

A man after my own heart.
