I grew up with Michael "Gerald" Henry. Yes he was crazy, but his girlfriend was much more crazier than he was. Everyone told him to stay away from her. he just didn't listen. It hurts like hell to know that he's gone. And it's funny how everyone has something smart to say. If you knew him then you would know about all the bullsh*t that he's been through. BUTANYWAY, Gerald will always be remembered and will live through his true friends. The hell with what people have to say. That b*tch girlfriend is paying for it.

Look - this isn't about odds. The "odds" are 100% that placing a handgun in your mouth or pointing it at your head is a colossally bad idea, regardless of whether you're going to pull the trigger or even if you think it's not loaded at all. I've had a little bit of handgun training lately and the damned things scare the bejeesus out of me. I can't understand people who treat firearms casually.

The NY Post said that five of the seven chambers were loaded when they were "playing." His girlfriend said that they went through two empty chambers before they pulled the trigger the third time. Granted, they may have been spinning the chamber barrel between turns, but this seems highly suspicious. First off, what kind of idiot--even one playing russian roulette--loads the gun so that there's a greater-than-70% chance they'd kill themselves? Second, I agree with the commentor that the majority of "accidental" shootings are hardly so. Every time I read about a gun just happening to go off while pointed at another person, I have to question whether a reporter has ever fired a weapon. They just don't go off. You have to cock, aim, and then pull the trigger. Even if you're an inexperienced shooter, it takes some deliberate effort.

Yeah, the russian roulette story sounds very "Chicago."

"And then he ran into my knife. He ran into my knife ten times!"

The Daily News, in their neverending sensationalistic style, first said MOST of the chambers were loaded.

Their latest update has the chick lying about her identity and age... but she's still pregnant.

http://nydailynews.com/front/story/220723p-189686c.html

It still looks pretty fishy the way the story describes the way they played: they pointed the gun at each other? That's more like a new twist on the, "oh, I was cleaning my gun and it went off..." Yeah, conveniently in the direction of the person who got shot 'accidentally.' Usually it happens to police officers and their spouses.

"Hey, honey, can you come here a minute and look through my gun and tell me if you see that stubborn piece of dirt... OOPS!"

Russian Roulette is no joke?! Wow, thanks, Gothamist! It's great to know our internet mom is watching over us! And yes, we'll be careful in the park after dark and wear helmets on our bicycles. Definitely looking forward to items about the importance of wearing our seat belts and eating our vegetables, too!
