Do you remember how

vis_winds.jpg

Do you remember how Gothamist said a couple of days ago that the upper air wind patterns for today looked unsettled and that the forecast might change a lot? Well, we were just reporting the Weather Service forecast discussion from that day (the forecast backstory, if you will), and so today we report that the Weather Service nailed it. The models were wrong and the humans were right! The clouds will persist for much of the day but rain is looking very unlikely as dry air has moved in and the dew points are dropping like a rock. Unseasonably cool and dry through Saturday, warming up a bit on Sunday.

If you happen to be in Los Angeles next Saturday, the early forecast is calling for sunshine with a high of around 80.
