Beard Papa Heads Downtown

NYU students and other Union Square/East Village residents will appreciate the fact that the delicious cream puffs of Beard Papa is coming to Astor Place. Gothamist had no idea Beard Papa was moving there (we tend to walk down Lafayette), until Jesse Chan-Norris sent us a link to some photographs (including the one above). Gothamist thinks this location should be open till at least 10PM, since many visitors will probably have late-night munchies.

Beard Papa has a website in English! It explains much ("The inner shell is a choux pastry shell and the outer shell is a piecrust. It is this special-structured shell which makes bear papa's cream puffs so unique. ") and makes us hungry. And Gothamist on our visit to the Upper West Side Beard Papa location. In other yummy fun news, the Cupcake Cafe is joining forces with Books of Wonder to open an annex. I think it's on 18th Street, midway between 5th and 6th. Kids books and cupcakes. Yum, yum, yum.

This place is awesome! When you walk in, the smell of vanilla and pastries is so cool. I'm glad I don't have to go all the way up the UWS for this addictive stuff!!
