Pig Roast In The East Village This Sunday

2004_07_pigroat.jpg

The New Orleans culinary stylings of restaurant Natchez goes outside, as they hold a pig roast with Patio Bar on Second Avenue, aka the First Annual "Pig Roast on the Patio." Chef Shawn Knight will be serving Roasted Suckling Pig, Andouille Sausage, Pulled Pork Sliders, and more. There's no cover and the food is pay-as-you-go, with dishes starting at $5. Plus, there's live country music.

The Pig Roast on the Patio goes from 4PM to 11PM this Sunday, July 25th, at Natchez Restaurant and Patio Bar (31 Second Avenue, between 1st & 2nd Street). And if you don't make it to Natchez, you should - think yummy Cajun cooking, without the crazy, drunken spring break kids (here's NY magazine's review).

So, after seeing my boss play that at work, I'm going to give vegetarianism another go. But trying to find affordable vegetarian food around Times Square is going to drive me to drink!

hmm, if i eat a vegetarian, does that make me a vegetarian?

  • so eberly, if you are a vegan, then you're just a vegetable? waiting to be chopped up and thrown in as garnish for pig eaters?

  • Eberly

You are what you eat. Lucky you pig eaters don't see very well (you only see fantasies of each other, so you miss the bloatiness that pig eaters have).

    Frat-tastic!

pig roasts are so good. i prefer to not see the pig in the process however.

  • Man, that's a good question - I could so do me a plate of crawfish right now. I think I'm a go to this pig roast, too - it's only horrifying 'til it meets the taste buds.

Crawfish Boil! Love those roasts (once helped eat a 300 pounder), but nothing says NOLA like a good boil. Any idea where one could find one of those? Hard to do in NYC what with the space required and what not (cayene infused steam is generally not welcomed by one's nieghbors).

That photo wants to make me grab some hot sauce and a beer.

  • that photo makes me want to become a vegetarian.

  • Ouch

That piggy looks like something out of those "Alien" or "Predator" movies. Yuck.
