I too think the F has been mis-judged all these many years. It completely and thoroughly sucks downtown and in brooklyn. it is standing room only at odd hours, it comes in bunches, and is extra miserable on weekends.

The R is shite if you live along a local stop on 4th avenue Brooklyn. When I lived in Sunset Park and depended on it, life sucked.

I do love the new B train. The 2/3 is generally decent into Brooklyn as well. I think the D train by-passing Dekalb on weekends is a farce and should be stopped.

Why does the F train seem so much worse than its Straphanger rating? It's a sardine can between 5 and 7; I've started taking the R to 4th Ave. and walking up to 8th Ave. (good exercise!). Service is very spotty at night and on weekends (especially with the G taking over the past couple of weekends).

Am I on crack thinking the N/R isn't that bad? (I see it as a tortoise-hare thing. It's slow, but it comes.). The W used to be great, now it's just a poor man's N/R.

Well it is 'regular' service, problem is that it's scheduled so rarely.

I'd like to know how far apart trains are supposed to be at 11pm on a Friday or Saturday night, god knows that's when I am most worried about how long its going to take.

I am sorry, but the strap hangers are smoking crack if the G train is the most regular.. under that system every other subway must have chronic irritable bowel syndrome or dysentery.
