School Crime Is Down, But The Charts Are Big

2004_06_mayob.jpg

The Mayor, Schools Chancellor, and Police Commissioner announced that their effort to reduce crime at certain plagued NYC schools has been successful. Gothamist is glad, and we hope that this is part of a larger, continuing effort to also (1) make sure schools have the supplies they need and (2) make sure teachers are retained, including ones recruited in the Fellowship program (we know a few who have been beaten up by the program).

Another headline for this post could be "Mayor Asks NYPD to Guard Precious Foamcore Blow-ups Of Charts."
