After losing to the New England Revolution this weekend, the MetroStars are still atop the Eastern Conference in the MLS. The MetroStars took sole possession of first last week when they defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy, 3-0. One week ago, the MetroStars played against the Galaxy at Giants Stadium and beat them 2-1.

In Saturday's game, the Revolution scored on goals from Felix Brilliant and Clint Dempsey, both rookies. The Revolution broke a three game losing streak and halted the MetroStars two game win streak. The MetroStars scored their lone goal in the 90th minute on a penalty kick by Amado Guevara and threatened in stoppage play, but could not tie the game.

The MetroStars, 5-4-4, are two points ahead of the Chicago Fire and D.C. United. Their next game is Wednesday against the Colorado Rapids in Giants Stadium.
