Like many weather lovers, Gothamist seems to be most fascinated with weather's more awe-inspiring events--the kinds of weather events that in the post-X-Games Mountain Dew world, are known as "extreme." However, Gothamist believes that a world where we can call both in-line skating and mega-tsunamis extreme is a world that needs some new adjectives.

The question for many of us is how to get to the extreme weather in the first place. Well, wonder no more. Gothamist recently found TempestTours--an actual storm chasing expedition company! You pick the base location in tornado alley that works best for you, they'll stick you in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle with complimentary beverages and take you where the storms are. Take that, Bob Burnquist! The tours are conducted in May and June, peak tornado season. But even if you aren't graced with nasty weather, Tempest has some other gnarly opportunities to get your extreme weather juices flowing:
