Bloomberg thinks he was elected New York's daddy, and is a dangerous dick. The Ney thing is a nice gesture, but I actually fear what Bloomberg would do with this money. His idea of New York's rebirth is to make it quiet and nicey-nice so we are an attractive place to live for business sluts and their creepy children.

Better to fight for a fair share of that money when it won't be managed by an uptight suit.

The MTA *might* not have enough money. It depends on which set of books you look at.

The problem is the Ney, along with all those other Dem. and Rep. congressmen, said they would do anything needed for NYC. Yet they are gave $1 million to Cape Cod to make their ferry landing more terror-proof. Meanwhile, the MTA doesn't have enough money to put together an evacuation plan for the subways.

Tien is right. If these bastards want to cash in on the 3,000 people that died that day, they need to put up or get out of town. This city survived because of the people who lived here, not some stodgy politician, but that doesn't mean things couldn't have been easier with the government funding that's needed for a city with such a large population.

I say amen to Nicole in the comment above. Ney probably had his reasons for voting against additional funding (although the "freedom fries" move was bs). It just seems kind of selfish for Bloomberg to do that. Good luck to Bloomberg nonetheless.

instead of thanking Fahk Face Giuliani you should BLAME Koch (another White Trash Loser) for opening the doors of the mental hopitals and releasing all of the mental patients onto the streets.

And in re, Giuliani, if you drive buses into Harlem every Friday and Saturday night and just start filling them up with young non-White males, you are bound to accidently snag one or the criminals in the net.

Everbody, except for WT NYC, can see what Giuliani is. The press is just afraid to write anything negative about Fahk Face that his Storm Troopers because of 9/11. (but then if they hadn't made a career of terrorizing non-White males, maybe they could have prevented 9/11).

Hmm... I don't hate Giuliani, and I definitely don't consider myself a middle class White Trash Loser who can't afford to move out of the city. Do you remember what NYC was like before Giuliani? Censorship and tough guy posturing aside, since Giuliani there's been less graffiti, gangs and murders in my neighborhood. I remember growing up having to walk past a blood stain on the corner of my block from where the local korean grocer got stabbed to death. I'm thankful for Giuliani's administration.

I think that Bloomberg got the Black Vote when he met with Al Sharpton immediately after he conned Giuliani and the Republicans into backing him.

Everybody in NYC who hates Giuliani will vote for Bloomberg for re-election. And, the only people in New York City who don't hate Giuliani are the lower middle class White Trash Losers who can't afford to move out of the city (and there aren't enough of them left to elect anyone to anything).

Who cares if Bloomberg runs as a Republican? We all know who Bloomberg is. Bloomberg is the guy who butt-banged Giuliani while Giuliani had radioactive rods in his prostate. I mean, you can't get more "down with the brothers" than that.

if bob ney wants to trade on the tragedy of 9/11, then he should have to fork over some money to new york.

and yes, i know that it affected the whole nation and many people outside of nyc. don't say how sorry you are to see it happen and then keep money from us when we're trying to stop it from happening again.

Bloomberg running as a Republican and then an Independent wouldn't be unprecedented -- that's what John Lindsay did.

Not to be contrary, but why would Bloomberg expect a Congressman from Ohio to have NYC's interests in mind? Isn't he just a little more obligated to his Ohioan constituents?

Plus, I watched that vote on CSPAN, and there were a lot of Republicans and Dems that voted against it. Bloomberg's going to have a lot of cold shoulders to turn.

Good for Mike. Bob Ney is also the idiot that changed the menus in the Congress cafeteria to read, "freedom fries."
