Air Conditioners for $75 on Thursday

As reported by the Post this past weekend and NY magazine today, Target is going to sell 5,000 BTU air-conditioners in Herald Square Thursday for $75 a pop, including a pull cart to bring them home. The sale begins at noon and will end at 7PM or when they are out of units, which Gothamist predicts be by mid-afternoon. So mark your calendars and arrange to have a long doctor's appointment in the morning on Thursday ("My physician suddenly decided I needed a FULL work-up!").

NY magazine also notes that there will be another sale this Saturday, at the Second Avenue Festival (23rd St. and 2nd Avenue), starting at 11AM. And here's how to properly install an air-conditioning unit.

The question I have is: is it better to store your ac during the winter, or can you just leave it in the window all year long?

So is it Thursday or tomorrow? I'll assume Thursday since it got 2 mentions compared to 'tomorrow' getting just one...

Sorry! It is Thursday. I wasn't sure if I should post about it today to tomorrow, hence confusiong. Thanks for catching that

Reddy Kilowatt sez: Just remember that the *real* price of an air conditioner is in your increased electricity bills. $75 only seems like a great value until you receive your first electricity bill for $50 more than you used to pay.

we bought this a/c for $79 at Home Depot to use in The Kid's bedroom. It certainly gets the room colder than a nursery should get.

It's for sale online, too, so don't blow your top if you don't get one on the street.

Sale Thursday? So, when's the blackout?
