Pagans celebrated the summer solstice, and the modern day pagans, aka New Yorkers, have a chance to do the same at Solstice in Times Square which has activities from 11AM till dusk tomorrow, Sunday. The activities include:
11:00 AM - 11:45 - Cool Jazz
12:00 Noon - 12:45 PM - "Mind Over Madness" Yoga Fest
12:45 PM - 1:00PM - Solo aerial performer in "cocoon" routine
1:00 PM - 3:00PM - Anti-Gravity aerial performance group
3:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Professional Musicians -Chamber, Latin, Swing
8:45 PM - 9:00PM - Fire Dancer / Closing performance

All the events are on Broadway, between 43rd - 47th Streets. Gothamist is interested in the yoga event, which the website describes as a way to "soothe the soul of the city as part of a larger Solstice in Times Square celebration. Together, through the practicing of basic yoga, including Hatha yoga and sun salutations, experienced Yogis and beginners alike will honor the balance of excitement and calm, inner stillness and dynamic motion, activity and acceptance." Calm and inner stillness in Times Square? Hee!
