Invasion of the Bongo-Playing Bananas

Some people are very excited about the Jamba-ization/Juicing of NYC, with the arrival of many Jamba Juice locations. Gothamist didn't believe Curbed's reports of "Live Bananas" on 42nd Street (everyone knows that bananas are inanimate, duh!), but now we are believers. Gothamist Weather's KP posted a photograph his friend, Fresh, (what a wonderful, collaborative world this is) took of, yes, live bananas on Broadway and 50th. They were even playing the bongos! All to celebrate Jamba Juice moving to Times Square; according to KP, Jamba Juice doesn't do traditional advertising, so it's mainly guerilla (ha!) tactics like dressing up as bananas, yelling, "Jamba! Jamba! Jamba! 42nd street!" Excellent. Gothamist will get our panda costumes ready.

    Hey guys big news!!! DO NOT GO TO TIMES SQ JAMBA OR BRYANT PART JAMBA!!

    These are not really up to jamba juice standard the only jamba juice that is up to par is 59th st and columbus circle i kno that its out of every1's way but if you want a real jamba juice experience thats where it is those stores are having management and product consistency problems DO NOT GO THERE! i went there and i told them no dairy and they gave me something with FROZEN YOGURT/FRO-YO and i got sick that night they don't know what they are doing!!!!

    When the weather is freezing will these people still lap up Jamba Juices. Are they not icy cold?

    You can only get service and treated like a human being if you are a black male in your 20's that can flirt with register girls.

  • ah, chainstores... Jamba, In-n-Out, and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf got me thru college. 1 down, 2 to go!



    oh and the time warner center has a Jamba downstairs... much better location: fewer tourists, more mallrats. central park out the door.

    i absolutely love jamba, but the service at that particular location has really sucked the past two times i was there. sad
