If you're talking about cake in Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Blackout cake (also available in cupcake size!) at Two Little Red Hens (7th Ave and 12th St, Park Slope) is quite possibly the best I've ever had. Crumbly, mousse-y, yummy!

ah yes, i finally had another slice of cheesecake a few weeks ago. it still made me a bit queezy, though. in fact, sometimes i swear that my apt still smells like cream cheese.

which reminds me, it's almost time for the cupcake challenge...

wow, it's been so long since the cheesecake challenge, i think i might actually be able to look at a slice now and not get queasy.

I live right down the street from Rocco's Calamari. It's an italian buffet/cafeteria style place that's good but sometimes hit or miss - depending on how long the fried calamari's been sitting. The area around it smells of fried calamari. Rocco himself is a fixture, greeting patrons and directing wait staff. But I don't know if you can really call it Bay Ridge. More like boro park, though no one wants to admit it. The heart of bayridge (3,4,5 aves) is pretty far from this place.

For what it's worth, Pizza Royale on fort hamilton pway and 67 has better pizza than L & B, though L & B is more fun to go to. Unless you're into guns; then you could go to the below ground shooting range right next to Pizza Royale. http://www.gunsports.com/
