To get us ready for the Republican National Convention, which is going to happen, like or not, folks, Gotham Gazette has created yet another fun interactive game that allows you to "Find Your Inner Republican." And, yes, there might be one lurking. It's actually a great tool to see where you line up on the issues and which NYC (or NY State) Republicans you're most like and a way to learn more about those past and present leaders. It's looking like there's quite a bit of Mayor John Lindsay in Gothamist on social issues. Another Gotham Gazette interactive game that we've enjoyed is the NYC Budget Game.
And today, the Daily News has an exclusive about the police trying to tell the homeless to move away from Madison Square Garden because homelessness = scary to convetioneers and national TV crews, just as the NY Times looks at a draft of the city's new policy on homelessness that may eliminate some from entering the shelter system. Sigh.

I'm apparently a Radical Republican, like Lindsay and LaGuardia.
Not particularly surprising, that one.
And your inner republican is: Alfred E. Neumann!
(hey, isn't that what the silhouette looks like?)
Another Radical Republican, which I guess means I'm in favor of Grant's Impeachment (and all the ex-history teachers laugh...). What does it mean when all the Republicans you agree with are dead (Lindsay, LaGuardia, Lincoln)?
Tim:
I think it's a sign that the Republicans just aren't the party they used to be.
Same with the Democrats, of course -- wasn't that Strom Thurmond's original affiliation?
exactly, laguardia would not be a present day republican
Mike Bloomberg isn't a present day Republican.
so Spot On, youre saying youre a complete moron, a liar, and a thief?
Yeah, but that make Courtney Love a George W. Bush Republican... I suppose if all were fair in the world Bush would be arrested three times a day too.
