Love at Rumsey Playfield

Courtney Love will be coming to town to play SummerStage on June 28. Tickets go on sale today; if you go, you may want to wear riot gear. More SummerStage details here.

Courtney Love told reporters after a court appearance (where she plead guilty and agreed to go into drug rehab) that Marc Jacobs gave her lots of clothes. Marc Jacobs also dressed Winona Ryder during her shoplifting trial (Gothamist loves lies.com's analysis of Winona's trial fashion). If court hearings and trials were produced like movies, we know that there would be a costumer credit for Jacobs. Marc Jacobs' brand is strong enough not to be considered "[Relatively] Young Hollywood's Answer For Courtroom Appearances," but we know that when there's a movie of Love's life, costume designers will be scouring stores for "vintage" Jacobs.

Anyone remember when SummerStage was free? Like 3-4 years ago?

This simple two comment (see above) has been deleted twice with no explanation. Is Gothamist accepting funds from the SummerStage promoters and thus deleting this comment? What's the deal?

Actually, Summer Scalper, your comment earlier was deleted, because we banned your IP since you were also leaving offensive comments on the site.

ANd yes, I do remember when SummerStage was free. And no, Gothamist is not getting swag, email, or money from SummerStage. We're not that hooked up.

Just saw Courtney Love walk into Balthazar ... time is now 3:46pm Friday if anybody wants to heckle her. She looks awful, sunken in face and hilariously large lips.

She always looks horrible. I don't see why she has such a following to begin with. And who the hell invited her to SummerStage??? The second she steps foot on stage they should haul her away and lock her up at Creedmore for Psychiatric evaluation, and hopefully military drug testing.
