Even the most jaded New Yorker can be thrilled by the sight of a movie being filmed on our streets, because, even the crappiest of movies with New York scenes can still be amazing if there's that one stunning vista of the city or you can say, "Yeah, that street really is that dirty." This picture of Steve Buscemi and some off-duty firefighters (playing firefighters, natch) gathering around the craft service table was taken in Red Hook last night by Jake, who claims Buscemi is in the center under the tent. The film? John Turturro's Romance and Cigarettes, which stars James Gandolfini, Kate Winslet, Susan Sarandon, Buscemi, Mandy Moore, Mary-Louise Parker, and Amy Sedaris, among others. And in the made-for-Rush-&-Molloy vein, it seems that the firefighters not only played firefighters but also did their day job too - a fire broke out during the filming.
