Today's Forecast

Here we go again. Today, we're looking at a high of 80, a bit more pleasant than yesterday. And though there's a chance of scattered thunderstorms today and tonight, I dug a little deeper into the Weather.com forecast, which predicts potential showers this morning, but no thunderstorms til around 4PM.

The creepy and wonderful lightning photo KP's friend took yesterday reminds me: if you ever snap an interesting weather pic, email it to us. (If you'd like to be weather artist-in-residence for a week, let me know, too.)

  • Hm...good question. I think Joe once described the instrument that's used to measure humidity (a hygrometer?), but I have no idea if it's predictable. Maybe he does. Joe?

  • Do you know of a forecast on the web that tries to predict humidity? I'm baffled that it's so hard to find out whether tomorrow will be muggy - given that it's the most decisive thing to know about the weather other than rain.

  • from my windowseat on West 13th street, it definitely appears so.

can you see the lightning? send me photos!

  • well lookie here, just after 4pm and the sky is about to fall. was weather.com right??
