Kill in Translation

2004_05_sofiaquentin.jpg

Things that Sofia Coppola and Quentin Tarantino have in common: A love for Wong Kar-Wai. Best Screenplay Oscars. Obsessions with former TV stars. Distinct personas (maniac/spotlight hog; shy girl). Gothamist can't wait for the Conan If They Mated...and if we missed it - damn it all. But go to If They Mated and laugh at the archives while loving Photoshop.

Gawker on the Sofia-n-Quentin matchup: It's Officialish and The Plot Thickens. And we still love Lost in Translation.

  • How about "Pulp Translation"?

  • "Kill in Translation"?.....

What about "Lost in Bill"? "Lost in Fiction"? "Lost in Brown' even? "The Virgin Dogs"?

    I know, I know, everyone's a critic...

  • There is a lovely WKW fest happening next weekend at BAM. It's much preferable to sitting home and watching your lovely DVD of ChungKingExpress that has QT's name plastered all over it for no good reason other than to nauseate.

Speaking of Wong Kar Wai, I believe there's a retrospective of some of his films at BAM this weekend.

  • Whoa. I am one degree of ass-kissing away from BOTH of them. On the SAME NIGHT.

  • I liked Spike better for her. The pair sat behind us when we saw Talk to Her at the Sunshine. Quiet the whole time. I can only imagine how loud/annoying Quentin would have been.... ;-) (And yes, I am a QT movie fanatic, I just happen to think he is off his rocker.)
