I had psoriasis and went to Dr.Z, he insisted to inject me with Kennelog, he told me that was safe and all. I had bad experience before with steroid treatment so I refused. He gave me topical medicine and he said if it didn't work, he will do the steroid.

I think he just tried to sell me the injection for $200 each! and the plan was I had to do few injections..

Luckily, I met good doctor for psoriasis and he told me that Dr.Z was a cosmetic doctor and can't treat psoriasis.

I was treated by Dr.Z many years ago, maybe 25 yrs of so. Then his price was fair and because of him I had beautiful skin. I recieved compliments from people I didn't know on how beautiful my skin was. Though I moved from NYC 20 years ago I never forgot how beautiful my skin was under his treatment. Make all the jokes you want about him but if you really want beautiful clear skin he can make it happen for you. He did it for me and I didn't even have acne, I just wanted clear skin as my skin tone was uneven. I am a dark skinned black female, and doctor Z had my skin as beautiful as butter scotch. He knows his job well. I was treated by him when I was in my 20's, now in my 50's I wish he was in the city I live in now. I would go back to him to get that youthful look again.

If you read closely, Dr. Z's adds have every letter in the alphabet except for "Q".

I went to "dr. Z" about 2 months ago and when i first walked in i filled out some paperwork and they asked me for $300.00 they didnt even do anything to me yet then they charged me $150.00 for a facial and some extrra money to talk to me and even more money to stick a needle in my face. all together the trip to "dr. Z" costed me over $800.00

i went to dr. zizmor in maybe 1990. i had asked a college friend for a derm recommendation, and lo and behold, she referred me to the "doctor that she had been going to for years, now the guy on subway ads."

so, off i went to score some uber-clearasil for what was, in retrospect, a few normal teenage zits. as fast as i was escorted into an exam room, he came at me with a needle to inject into my face. i objected, he insisted it was the best thing, i objected some more and got out of there as fast as i could. 50 bucks down the (not clearasil) tube, no treatment.

I loved the ads where he included his family, but it looked like each of them had been photoshopped from a different picture and joined together next to a chalet.

What was up with Mrs. Zizmor's hat? She looked like she was wearing a trash can lid. She had a great complexion, though.

gosh, memories. i remember those miiil-ford....plaaa-za commercials. i'd watch it on tv as a kid and be like, "wow, the bellhops sing and dance on the streets in nyc! im there dude."

Is it just me, or would Zizmor have no business if his last name didn't end in "Z"? It's just so... futuristic!

Dammit Jen you are always one post ahead of me. I was just about to bust out the YPDC reference! In that case, I'll choose to remember the rockin 4H commercials with the band-in-a-classroom, or if you prefer, the infamous "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" one-to-grown-on type ads...

I also liked the ads for Young People's Day Camp, with the smiley face balloon. And (hee hee hee) "RACEWAY PARK"!

"Rides and attractions... non-stop action" - oh man, I remember all of those commercials.

Ha. Passed by the Milford Plaza the other night in a cab home from Penn Station. Sang that song the rest of the way home. :-)

yeah his commercials will always have a place in my heart along with the other new york commercials that always ran during daytime-home-sick-from-school-tv...beautful mount airy lodge...in the center of it all is the milford plaza...the food emporium...westchester county fair.

What used to kill me was that his name was Zitzmor. I thought that was the worst possible name for a dermatologist. Apparently he agreed, because at some point he dropped the "t" and became Zizmor. He then further distanced himself from the phoneme by taking on the persona of "Dr. Z!" I'm not sure about his chemical peeling skills, but the man sure is a marketing genius.

My mom actually went to school with him from elem. to high school. She always had nice things to say about. Goes to show ya...
