Gothamist Makes TV!

Gothamist on Channel 7 in the morning

Sreenath Sreenivasan

Gothamist is so flattered that Sreenath Sreenivasan, Columbia Journalism professor and ABC 7's Tech Guru, mentioned us as his "favorite New York blog" during his Tech Guru segment yesterday. Sree gave a topline about what blogs were (pretty basic for the 6:50AM audience) and mentioned Gothamist as well as NYC Bloggers and a Sopranos blog, Bada Bing - very fine company, indeed. Thank you, Sree!

You can see the clip here if you have Windows Media Player.

Tech Guru addresses common technology questions for people on Thursday mornings at about 6:45AM and on Saturday mornings at 7:45AM (sleepyheads, you can TiVo it!) on NYC's Channel 7; Engadget was mentioned last month during a discussion about digital camera issues. He also runs SreeTips, a website for various technology issues. The Online Journalism Review interviewed Sree about his position at Columbia.

Sree was in Newsweek about a month ago. They did an article on prominent Indians in America (or some such thing - please don't shoot me if it was more regional in focus, I only skimmed the article and looked at the pretty pictures). I was very excited to see Sree mentioned since I'm a big ABC 7 morning show geek - I just love that Steve guy, so cute he is!

Sree's students do a large project on New York each year -- in recent years it's been a 24-hour profile of the city.
