Yes, Anne, Gothamist will call you crazy: It looks like Anne Heche (left) had the evening's wacky quotient filled at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala, Dangerous Liaisons (read: lots of corsets and bustles). We also liked how the Times's headlined it a "Night of the Living Art" (you can't fool us!) and Guy Trebay pointed out:
Andre Leon Talley, the editor at large at Vaogue, swept up the stairs...in a volumnious 18th century greatcoat designed for him by Karl Lagerfeld and hauling the teensy Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger like a gilded minaudiere. It's Gothamist's word of the day: Minaudiere. Renee is way teensy, so for larger-than-life fun, check out Andre Leon Talley's autobiography, A.L.T., which is a hoot.
J.Lo, Charlize, Scarlett, Julianne, Sofia...Mandy - they were all there last night. Check out some photos from Yahoo! News and Wireimage.
The International Herald Tribune's Suzy on the exhibit; The Times on how some guests tried to approach dressing for the event. Some movies with great corsets: Dangerous Liaisons (yes, duh), Elizabeth, Gone with the Wind, My Fair Lady, Truth or Dare.

What about Amber Valletta? Weirdo.
Ack - you're right! But at least that's like period craziness.
I paid the two fidy to go. You leave feeling empty, poor, fat, and ugly, like expensive Chinese food.
Let's not forget the criminal uses of a corset in Jawbreaker. Best. High school. Movie. Ever.
I had a great time and felt like Le Roi du Monde after standing three feet from Scarlett Johansson and Sofia Coppola at "The Party of the Year".
