sorry, i don't mean to be oblique...republican senator chuck hagel introduced the bill to reinstate the draft, and NY democratic senator charlie rangel signed on. does that help?
They are both Representatives. I do love Rangel's raspy voice. It gives me the shivers.

i tend to like Rangel, too, and i understand the theory behind pushing the draft issue (like, "let's see if these war hawks put their money where their mouth is," etc). on the other hand, the idea of a draft scares the bejesus out of me.
