Hello- Gothamist appears to be having some minor publishing problems this morning. Should be fixed by the early afternoon.
Update (10:15am): the problems appear to be fixed. Apparently there was a minor miscommunication with the helpdesk at our server company, which resulted in them commenting out some lines in a file the server needed to locate things. We tracked it down, fixed it, and now things seem to be working fine. Some interesting server news: I'm moving Bluejake.com to its own box later this week, so Gothamist.com performance should improve. Leave comments if you notice any persistent problems. Apologies for the outage!
Update (8:15am, day 2): apparently some problems continue, particularly with PHP and webmail on the server. They've elevated it to the level 2 techs, so I'm hoping we'll have the complete solution sometime today. Until then, the Forum will continue to return errors, and you may see some little bugs here and there.

...yeah it seemed like it was taking an inordinately long time to load the page; but I chalked it up as a slower-than-normal connection from my end.
I've noticed that for some reason that the MT client -under certain circumstances, and when used with MySQL- fails to initiate a connection to the DB server. This isn't the fault of the software it’s self, in the case that you haven't modified/hacked the script. It has more to do with latency caused by heavy network traffic to the DB server it’s self; MT times out on uploading and spits esoteric SQL DB errors all over your client. If this is what's happening to you, wait an hour and try again. If it does it all day, call your ISP.
The forums seem to be broken now. Boo.
The crushing continues, unabated.
Does Gothamist use iPower? My PHP is out of whack, as well. Pooh.
