I always thought Giambi was a heroin snorter- he's got thoes tell-tale little pinned pupils. I grew to love the Yankees during the 80's because of Donnie Baseball, a man who's spit held more baseball asthetic and love than the whole history of the crappy Mets. P.S. RN; Why the Cubs refrence?

Difference between Mets fans and Yankee fans is that Mets fans are baseball fans as well whereas Yankee fans just know the Yanks and no other team. I'm a Met fan, born and raised, and I cannot tell you how often I've heard Yankee fans say they won't watch the playoffs or WS if their team isn't in it. Another point to make, where were all these supposed die hard Yankee fans b/w 1983-1994? I'm almost certain that if you ask them who Bam Bam Meulens was they'd think he was on the Flintstones.

As a lifelong Mets fan, I've seen the highs and lows. I can only hope that this year won't be as bad as last year (though it really shouldn't). Regardless, I shall be there on opening day to cheer them on!

kojak, the subway series will obviously be covered when it comes around. this is just a outlook/preview for the two teams this season. and as far as the mets are concerned. i'm totally with you.

Even thought I always talk them down out of frustration, I've have always rooted for the Mets. I refuse to jump on the Yankee Bandwagon of FrontRunners and Suckups and overpriced, drugged up Players (Giambi). But What Happened after the Subway World Series Guys?? Your better then this.
