Macy's Flower Show This Sunday

2004_04_petacular.jpg

If losing an hour (Sunday is the time to spring forward) on Sunday is going to put you in a foul mood, Gothamist suggests you either get some pizza with the Slice Pizza Club or go to Herald Square for Petacular, where people will dress up their pets in crazy outfits just because. The Macy's Flower Show opens on Sunday, with over a million flowers from 30,000 species of flowers. This year's theme: Water.Color. (clearly, event programmers ran out of ideas for the name; the theme at San Francisco's Macy's Flower Show in Union Square is Colores de Mexico!, which if boring, is at least straightforward); there are also free guided tours everyday (and they are sponsored by Ask Jeeves, which is a nifty sponsorship). Look at some pictures from previous flower shows.

More animals dressed up: Dogs at Halloween.
