mess is a classy guy - had the pleasure of meeting him in person the year the rangers won the cup & msg hosted the all-star game a very down-to-earth, genuine guy as most hockey people i've met have been wish him the best in his future endeavors as for the rangers, they've proven once again that you can't just buy a bunch of veteran players and throw them all together & assume that team chemistry will work it's been quite the opposite the past seven years it appears they're finally getting the message let's hope the recent going out of business sale that unloaded a lot of high-priced talent brought in some younger players who can help this sorry franchise turn around sooner rather than later -piece

I saw the Rangers destroy the Cap's when I was in highschool. One of the best hockey games I have ever seen, actually. The Rangers have always been a good team and will come back, just give them time.

This is sad, sad news, as Mark Messier really brought life to the Rangers. He's been a clutch player and a great leader. While his former teammate (on the Oilers and Rangers) Wayne Gretzky gets a lot of the glory, Messier was actually able to lead his post-Oilers team to a Stanley Cup championship, putting to rest the curse. He will be missed.
