Jerry, Barry, and Superman

Jerry Seinfeld and Superman

If you miss Seinfeld (somehow, through the hundreds of reruns that are in syndication), then check out American Express's webisodes that have Jerry Seinfeld and Superman - voiced by Puddy himself, Patrick Warburton! The webisodes are five minutes each, with the first one starting in a diner - and the director is Barry Levinson.

Watch the websiodes here; there is also a "behind-the-scenes" look at the filming. Jerry Seinfeld also admitted that he was thinking of starting a boutique ad agency, within American Express's ad agency, Ogilvy; he says he's too busy now but the idea "still rattles around" his mind. Oooh...though he'd probably want to reference something more personal, Gothamist suggests he call the agency, Kramerica Advertising Worldwide.

Of course Superman is shilling for American Express. You'd never see Batman doing this. He's got too much self-respect. Plus, he'd be too busy trying to hack into the AmEx computers to figure out all of Jerry Seinfeld's weaknesses.

Oh yeah, gotta love the Curt Swan/Murphy Anderson effect going on. And I have to admit, I like the way Warburton plays him. "Helloooooo, do you not SEE ME HERE?"

  • That was actually pretty funny. I've never seen Superman portrayed so...goofy before. But mad-props to ad agency who decided that Superman would be modelled after the way he looked when he was drawn by Curt Swan who was the main artist for Superman in the 1960's through the 1980's.

Vandalay is a golden one...I have used that as my place of employ before - as well as saying that I'm a 'strategerist.'

I would like to name a diner or bar "Salsa 'n' Seltzer."

  • vandalay!! although that's more import/export...but still!
