Now, Gothamist loves us some Mr. Darcy, but why is Colin Firth hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend? Anyone? His last movies came out late last year (The Girl with a Pearl Earring, Love Actually), and in his last big American movie, he had to settle for billing after Amanda Bynes. We are all for a Bridget Jones spoof, or some sort of acknowledgement that Firth keeps playing the cuckold (Bridget Jones, Love Actually, Shakespeare in Love, The English Patient), but his hosting is a puzzle, especially with Starsky and Hutch coming out this weekend - isn't it time for Owen Wilson to host?
Read Pride and Prejudice online. And Bridget Jones sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, will be released this fall.

Tried to find a reason, but to no avail...did see that he is in a thriller with Meena Suvari that is slated to be released by Warner's later this year.
I know why he's hosting, because SNL is so lame, no one else wants to do it.
snl is not lame! snl's recovered from its post-will ferrell phase and gotten better again... the women this season have banned together and started kicking sketch comedy's ass.
and owen should host. from what i read in live from new york, stiller might have burned some bridges by cancelling his zoolander-fueled hosting duties right after 9/11...
or they could make jokes about how he played mr. darcy and mark darcy. or that since he plays mark darcy, he can't play himself in the next bridget jones. never understood that one.
Does there need to be a reason? Colin Firth's hosting because he's Colin Firth. Mmmmm. :)
Colin Firth is a great Actor..whether as a Leading man or character actor..in comedy or serious role...He is European in mannner and a very "Hip" guy..Its wonderful that he is being recognized more for his acting craft here in the United States. Let's give Colin a chance...he will surpass so many of our other British Import favorites..

I think colin firth is one of the best actors today I will watch any sow movie etc. thathe is starring in
