Dogster, Your Virtual Dog Community

The best thing, aside from qualified hook-ups and being able to stalk exes (of both the romantic and platonic varietals), to come from Friendster might be the advent of Dogster. Since Gothamist has no dogs (just a cat - we'll be waiting for the inevitable Catster), we've only discovered it now [thanks to Oliver and j0sh]. Dogster has a charmingly slow load time, much like Friendster. From being able to add dogs to your "corral" and searching by breed, sex, or bio (purebred or rescue dog) to the I Like It Ruff advice column, this seems like the place for the cool dogs to run. And we love Mr. Handsome, the American bulldog pictured.

The other way for animal lovers to see many pets: Petfinder.org; these are adoptable so proceed with caution!
