Gothamist loves the High Line, so we enjoyed kottke's visit to yesterday very much.
Other walks to take when the weather is as beautiful as it was yesterday and will be for most of this week (well, there is some rain, but everyone, let's pray):
The Battery Park Esplanade
Brooklyn Heights Promenade
The East River Park
Riverside Park

Don't forget the Hudson River Greenway... perfect for blading.
So good! so Good!
Say... if anyone feels like walking the highline this weekend... PLEASE let me know, I'd love to tag along. Email me please *looks hopeful*
I was very interested to see this. On my last visit to Paris a couple of years ago I made a point of going to see the Promenade Plantee - an elevated railway that's been turned into a park, fully landscaped and an oasis of tranquility in the middle of a bustling city. Maybe Gothamist could start a campaign for a similar initiative in NYC? Have a look at the picture galleries of the Parisien version at http://www.promenade-plantee.org and you will see what can be achieved.
Simon, such an initiative already exists. It called Friends of the Highline. Check out http://www.the highline.org.
Whoops! Sorry. No space between "the" and "highline."
What's the best way to get up there? I heard 34th St. b/c the entrance is blocked at the other end. Is that right?
Does anyone know when the Tribeca Hotel on the corner of North Moore is slated to break ground
