Look, if you can't afford one, sucks to be you. If you can, get it, it's sweet. For one thing, it's a /lot/ smaller than the original - about half the size - and much lighter. And the fact that you don't need a case for it - its metal covering doesn't show scratches or fingerprints - means that in use it really takes up about 1/4 the space. So it pretty much disappears into my shirt or jacket pocket.

4G, Muvo2 MP3 player, $199. and yes it has a removable, replacable battery. not as slick as the iPod, but smaller and just as functional. also I've heard too many stories about apple's piss poor customer service to buy anything from them...yet. I thought about it though.

Swappable batteries increase the size of the device, because the batteries have to be sandwiched in a layer of plastic. If you've ever looked at the guts of an iPod, it's extremely tightly integrated to get that small formfactor. Note that several competing HD players also have sealed batteries...

Kojak - you can go to sites like ipodbattery.com and buy an aftermarket battery with installation instructions.

Its Not Nonsense, its Fact. Li Ion + NiCad Batteries break down usually after 400 to 600 Charges. Some people don't have the Battery Problem if they don’t use it and recharge it as much as other people do.

What makes it worse is that its a integrated NONE Removable battery so the customer cannot replace it themselves. Apple knows this and only guarantees the battery for 1 year. And since they are usually the only people who can replace the battery, they charge $ for you to send it to them and replace it.

Your the one whos blowing your $ :-)
And who sez I pay for microsoft's products ;-)

for those who waited in line and shelled out nearly the same amount as a 15GB ipod for a marginally smaller, far less capable version because it is colourful:

please contact me immediately. i may have a real estate deal that could interest you.

I've had my ipod for two years without any battery problems. That battery story is nonsense. Keep giving your money to Gates...

Apple enthusiasts = Suckers

Its Way Overpriced and they still havent learned about the Battery Problems they've had with the earier Ipods + now they rip off the customer by charging 99 bucks for apple to replace a battery that is Guaranteed to fail in 12 months to 18 months......

Suckers Indeed
