Jayson Blair's NBC Media Blitz

Details of America's Sweetheart Katie Couric's interview with journalism wayward son, Jayson Blair, from the Hollywood Reporter:
• Friday, March 5 - Dateline interview - Expect some Jayson Blair on Dateline watching parties.
• Monday, March 8 - Today Show, live appearance - Expect bagels, muffins, coffee and juice in the conference room.
THR also notes that the Dateline "story will also include interviews with industry experts about how the scandal has affected journalism." Aha! That's why those TV cameras were in your boss's office.

Jayson's book, Burning Down My Masters' House, is on bookshelves March 9.

this is great...i can't wait til it's my turn to undermine my entire profession and get some quality face time with america's godmother...this guy is a boil on the ass of journalism...and i don't care what the book says...lance him for christ sake

he WILL do a gothamist interview. i promise the reader(s?) that much.

If we all just stop paying attention, he will go away.

Exactly: hopefully he'll be largely ignored so that he'll disappear forever. Kinda like that Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode when Springfield's ads come to life and wreak havoc, and the people figure out that if you just ignore them, they die.

You can meet Jayson live and in person any time you want, just spend 5 minutes in Park Slope, he's always skulking around. It's sort of mystifying that he stayed in one of the most heavily-concentrated media nabes in town. He's definitely not interested in hiding.

If in a few years my career is stalling and I need to give it a shot in the arm, I'm going to pull a Blair: break the ethics of my profession, embarass my employer, embarass my colleagues, apologize profusely, portray myself as a victim, get a book deal, and make more money than I would have ever dreamed.

The obvious question is when's the Blair corporate speaking tour going to commence? You just know he's going to create some kind of "scared straight" ethics program for businesses. "Don't be me," he'll tell packed houses around the country. Maybe he can share the stage with Kevin Mitnick.

I know I should ignore it but I just want to find him and kick his ass. once it gets out of my system, it should be fine.
