Murdering for Sneakers

2004_02_ming.jpg

The brutal murder of Huang Chen, 18, who was killed when delivering food for his parents' Chinese restaurant, seems to have been motivated by Air Jordan sneakers. Nayquan Miller and Charles Bryant, both 16, with other suspects, ordered $10 of food, then robbed Chen of $49 then beat and murdered him, even after Chen pleaded for his life. Miller and Bryant were charged as adults with second-degree murder, robbery, tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a weapon. Air Jordans cost about $150. City Councilman John Liu told the Post, "I think certainly there is some profiling going on here by these animals who see these immigrant workers as easy targets."

These boys obviously have no respect for life, by taking someone else's and all for a pair of damn sneakers,so why let them live theirs.

Peer pressure is a bullshit excuse. Even a five year old knows that murder is wrong. Taking the life of another human being for any reason is WRONG. And while I won't go into a debate about the rights and wrongs of the war in Iraq, I can't begin to tell you how disturbing it is to read about two American "boys" murdering one of our own in our homeland. And for what? A pair of Air Jordans? COME ON.

When whites commit murder, they do it on a grand scale. The motive is always corporate profits and they NEVER get caught.

On the other hand, blacks commit onesy-twosy killings solely for their entertainment value. Murders by blacks are profitless and they ALWAYS get caught and executed.

So the problem with the negro race is that while they can occasionally be clever (e.g. Mohammed and Malvo), they lack sophistication in their goals and methods.

What this fucking country needs to do is quit bullshiting around and start charging these little fucks like adults. thats bullshit! Too many little fucks going around these days killing and robbing people simply because they can get away with it easily. The way i see it, unless you're in second grade where your mother still has to hold your hand to school and you commit a crime, you should be tried as an adult. A 16 year old is 2 years from being a so called "legal adult" what the fuck is a legal adult? a 16 year old person can ejaculate and have babies already. thats no fucking kid. Have these grown "Men" put to death while being televised and you'll see the crime rate in youths drop 10 fold. trust me ! Vote POed Next president of the United States

They are total sick animals and deserve the same treatment they gave out. I don't care what race they are! They are hopelessly screwed up, insane animals who should be locked in the same room as the family and friends of the victim. Sorry, I am sick of people getting away with it!

Even though it may be peer pressure, you cannot use that as an excuse. Taking away someone's life is morally, lawfully, and just plain wrong. 25 years, in my opinion, is not enough, I don't care if they are 16, killing is wrong, and they should have thought about that when they wanted some new sneakers.

I know One of these Kids Personally. Nayquan Miller. He's not the type of kid to do something like this. We grew up together. Infact, I know Red (Nayquan) was persuaded by peer pressure into doing such a thing. He lived next door to me. I'm going to the hearing, i hope he only gets whats best. I feel sorry for the Chinese Man, we used to go to that chinese restaraunt everyday after school, which is Directly across the street (M.S. 72).

    Good Hopes Man!

Queens City Councilman Liu's angry description of Charles Bryant and Nayquan Miller as "animals" deserves concern. Can we only deny their humanity? What went wrong to enable them to brutally murder for a pair of trendy sneakers? What is there in our society and culture which encourages such a mentality to develop? Who and what bear responsibility? What can be done about it? Must Huang Chen's death be in vain?
