Oh, Kitty, You're So Fine

Hello Kitty turned 30 yesterday, and to celebrate, one Tokyo jeweller has created a blinging kitty: "For just three million yen (15,575 pounds/US $28,472), they can buy a three cm (1.2-inch) high platinum Kitty, her dress and hair ribbon studded with 131 diamonds."

Reuters also notes "Like many an ageing star, Kitty is known to have undergone at least one facelift during her career, which brought her eyes and nose closer together for a 'cuter' look." And Hello Kitty's advice is sage: "You can never have too many friends".

Quick, someone send Sanrio The Book of Ages: 30 for Hello Kitty!

Hello Kitty has no mouth... And I must Scream.

My exGF has an official Hello Kitty vibrator.

From Sanrio's FAQ: "Hello Kitty speaks from her heart. She is Sanrio's ambassador to the world who isn't bound to one certain language."

Hello Kitty has a sister and no one ever talks about her :(

It's like she's Smelly Cat.

Mimmy Kitty, the twin! And she gets no mention. So damn sad.

I think Hello Kitty is the natural result of a war-torn society that grew into a striving tension-filled, economic collosus. A response to nuclear horror and the uncertainty of 20th century life.

In a world of chaos, the warm and inviting Kitty reassures both young and old that there is happiness to be found, somewhere.

according to my official sanrio calendar -- aka known as a freebie with my purchase, but it is sanrio brand -- kitty's birthday is november 1st. i like this better though. i thought it was weird that she was a sagitarius.
