Air's Walkie Talkie Walkie

Air's new album, Talkie Walkie, comes out tomorrow and it's beautiful and dreamy, like much. Produced by Nigel Godrich, best known for his work with Radiohead, Talkie Walkie is dreamy and romantic (perfect for relaxing to), much more similar to Moon Safari (listen to some songs here). The album also includes Alone in Kyoto, which they wrote for their friend Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation.

Air will be in New York on April 13, at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Coolfer slipped us a copy of it at the Big Apple Blogger Bash. Thanks, Coolfer, for keeping us up to speed.

But it is far too short! Give us more!

This album is exquisite and absolutely perfect for lingering on a cold and snowy evening like tonite. A gorgeous and gentle recommendation.

  • I think it's a great album. Not a single bad track, and quite a few incredible ones. Saying it's perfect for falling to sleep to isn't a disparaging comment, in my opinion. Subtle is good. Subtle is underrated. There are enough loud albums being released these days. The quiet side of music needs more representation. I guess that's why I spent yesterday listening to Brian Eno and Harold Budd albums.

like most albums these days, there's like, 2 good tracks on it. otherwise, to paraphrase jen, perfect for falling asleep to.

Thanks, x. I am so dyslexic today. I also freaked out yesterday when I read "bizarre alien landscape" because I didn't notice the landscape part. I thought there were aliens discovered.

it appears to be called talkie walkie, not vice versa.
