Some SJP Schadenfreude

2004_01_sjppoo.jpg

Gothamist knows why the paparazzi was invented, to capture moments like this one. As Sarah Jessica Parker is filming the final episode of Sex and the City in Paris, cunning photographers caught her stepping into dog poo.

Gothamist is reminded of a chapter in David Sedaris's Me Talk Pretty One Day: Sedaris, living in Paris, tries to explain why Jodie Foster is carrying a bag of dog poo, because, in France, picking up after dog poo is unheard of, and Sedaris realizes why America is so great. Yes, God bless America's pooper scooper laws.

Is that really paparazzi? Or is it just a scene from the show?

*Sniff*

Schadenfreude is an overused word that died in 2003. The NY post writers use it now for goodness sake.

A nice reminder why blog writers are blog writers. Get new parlance for 2004 if you wan't to be ahead of the snark game.

Please, we have no aspirations to be ahead of the snark game. We just want to be on the pace with shots of celebrities stepping in dog.

Could there be such a thing as "shoe karma?"

maybe 'schadenfreude' was tossed around a lot last year, but the concept is still delectable. i'm taking comfort in a near-ruined pair of choo's and patting myself on the back for scoring some $19.99 average-brand clearance gems this weekend at macy's.

i kind of wish that gothamist would have said "shatdenfreude" instead, but i'm down for any type of schadenfreude.

That is a scene from the show. But also? In paris they have people on scooters who buzz around and vacuum up the poop. It's true.

MB: Let me know which arrondissement you saw these so called scooters & vacuums. The only poop cleaning I see is the green sanitation guys hosing down the sidewalk. Triumph the Insult Dog would have a field day here.

Note to snooty "5 Dollar a Word Writer":

Is putting an apostrophe in "want" part of the new parlance for 2004?

Better to be a blog writer than an illiterate blog critic.

Just another reason to avoid going to France! A dirty country and ignorant people.

Oh Irina, hating France is soooo 2003. Get over yourself and go travel.
