Year 4702 TOTALLY ROCKS! (as my homeboy would say, obvs.)

To wit:

Within two weeks of 9/11 my gf and I had both lost our jobs. We have been consulting/temping/self-employed/struggling ever since.

Yesterday - New Year's Eve - I landed my dream job.

Today - New Year's Day - she landed her dream job.

28 months of hell, 2 days of bliss.

By the way, she was born in the year of the Monkey.

Oh yeah, great post Jen, thanks. Between you and Tien this will be my most informed Chinese New Year ever.

"Purple monkey is "overall" luck."

I always thought Purple Monkey meant you're grabbing it a little too hard.

Happy Chinese New Year!

This is third hand, so I might be wrong, but:

Brown monkey is to ward away the annoying little people.
Blue monkey is for health.
Yellow monkey is for work and success.
Pink monkey is for love and family.
Purple monkey is "overall" luck.

Noooooo! Not Dim Sum Go-Go! I experienced the worst gastrointestinal event of my life--in the bathroom of a Fung Wah bus speeding to Boston, no less--after eating there.

BAO 111 is on avenue C, not A.
But you're such a cutie that we forgive the mistake

Jen, saying people look like monkeys isn't nice, even though he ABSOLUTELY does kind of look like a monkey (but in that cute, adorable controlled by a ring of nefarious "advisors" kind of way). Right now a picture of a mean political cartoon is developing in my head. One that includes Cheney with an accordian and Bush running around collecting quarters from a charmed electoriate; but, that would be mean.
